LANDOVER, Md., Nov. 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — The Cloudburst Group today announced that Dr. Vladimir Knezevic, an innovative leader with a history of success in providing support to clinical and public health research, has joined the firm as Director of its Center for Public Health. In this position, Dr. Knezevic will be responsible for managing and driving the firm’s established business in health communications, evaluation research and performance measurement, program planning and technical assistance services; and providing support to client agencies such as the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Dr. Knezevic has 20 years of management experience complementing his medical training and over a decade of biomedical research experience. Most recently, Dr. Knezevic served as the Director of the Center for Peer Review and Science Management at SRA International, overseeing a group that provides comprehensive science administration support services to government clients. Prior to this position he served as Vice President for Research and Development at 20/20 GeneSystems, a biotechnology company that develops and commercializes innovative diagnostic products based on the patented Layered Gene Scanning platform, for which he contributed to securing private and Federal research funding. Dr. Knezevic also spent 7 years as a research scientist at the National Cancer Institute studying early stages of vertebrate embryonic development and correlating it to cancer growth and progression. He has published 31 papers in peer reviewed journals and has been awarded 5 patents.
Dr. Knezevic holds a Medical Degree in General Medicine from the University of Zagreb Medical School, Zagreb, Croatia.
