Analyst, Housing and Community Development
Vanessa Walters is an Analyst who works within the Housing and Community Development practice area. In her role, Ms. Walters provides support for the development and implementation of technical assistance projects for HUD-funded programs and direct engagements with state and local government clients in the areas of community development, homeless assistance, affordable housing, grants management, compliance, reporting and planning.
Ms. Walters has experience serving as an AmeriCorps: Economic Opportunity Corps Team Leader in Buffalo, NY. She served two terms with a public housing authority, working alongside the rental counseling and financial coaching teams. During her service, she aided in the opening of a new financial education center, as well as the creation and maintenance of the rental counseling referral system.
Ms. Walters is currently studying Sustainable Urban Planning in a master’s program at George Washington University. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Economics from Binghamton University in 2019.
