Title: Civil Society, Media, and Rule of Law in Armenia
Product Type: Infographic
Client: USAID/Armenia & USAID Democracy Human Rights and Governance (DRG) Center
About: Under the Learning, Evaluation, and Research II (LER II) project, the Cloudburst Group was tasked by USAID/Armenia and the USAID DRG Center to develop a set of infographics that highlight key findings from three nation-wide assessments that Cloudburst conducted on civil society and media (CSM) and integrity systems/rule of law (IS/ROL) following the 2018 Armenian Velvet Revolution. The Velvet Revolution of 2018 was a pivotal moment in Armenia’s history. During this peaceful revolution–where not a single bullet was fired–Armenia democratically removed an authoritarian figure from office largely using civil society, media, and the rule of law, making these sectors critical to Armenia’s democracy building. The findings from the assessments informed actionable, operational recommendations to assist with strategic decision-making in DRG programming. The infographics will be used to brief the government of Armenia, the international donor community, members of Armenia’s civil society, and independent media to further strengthen democracy-building within these sectors.
