Data and Research Scientist
Shawn Griffith is a Data and Research Scientist with the Homeless Assistance Team assisting research and evaluation projects related to homelessness and housing insecurity. Additionally, Mr. Griffith provides HUD Technical Assistance to improve homeless response systems, homeless services efficacy, and regulatory compliance.
Mr. Griffith is an applied anthropologist with over 10 years of experience as both a researcher and practitioner – direct service and public administration – focused on homelessness, housing insecurity, and disaster. Mr. Griffith’s research focused on the intersection of homelessness and disaster to increase understanding of how individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness navigate disaster contexts. Prior to Cloudburst, Mr. Griffith served as the Homeless Program Coordinator for the City of Knoxville’s Office on Homelessness. Mr. Griffith is a former street outreach worker and has extensive experience engaging individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness in encampment settings.
Mr. Griffith holds a Master of Science in Human Ecology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Political Science from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
