The Cloudburst Group’s Disaster Response team is currently monitoring Tropical Storm Debby as it has traveled up Florida’s Gulf Coast, come ashore along the Big Bend, and continues to creep across the state and into Georgia and the Carolinas. The historic rainfall predicted along the storm’s path could be catastrophic, and people experiencing homelessness are particularly vulnerable to the impacts of flooding.
If you haven’t already, now’s the time to activate your emergency plan and make sure you’re communicating and coordinating with emergency management. You can find open evacuation shelters listed here and assist in distributing accurate information and encouraging people experiencing homelessness in your community to heed any warnings.
Cloudburst’s Disaster Response team makes a meaningful impact by helping communities provide life-saving assistance to people experiencing homelessness who are impacted by public health emergencies and natural disasters such as Debby.
