The Cloudburst Group is honored to share that Laura Kovach, Violence and Public Health Senior Analyst; Suzanne Marcus, Violence and Housing Subject Matter Expert; and Sara Hicks-West, Disaster Subject Matter Expert; will be presenting at the 2024 National Domestic Violence Hotline Conference, September 15-17, in Chicago, Illinois. This year’s theme is “Reclaim Hope. Champion Change.”
Laura has over 25 years experience working to address and eliminate sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking and human trafficking on college campuses, in the community at-large and as a training and technical assistance provider. Ms. Kovach is currently co-leading oversight of HUD cooperative agreement awards for the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and in support of advancing solutions to GBV for the homeless.
Suzanne has more than 20 years of experience working in the victim service and housing field. She has over 20 years experience working at the intersection of housing, homelessness, and violence, including co-founding the largest safe housing program for survivors in Washington, D.C. and providing training and technical assistance at the federal, state, and local levels to ensure survivor access to housing throughout the housing continuum.
Sara has more than 15 years experience serving families impacted by disasters with the American Red Cross. She has served in numerous leadership roles on disaster response operations including Hurricane’s Harvey, Irma and Florence, where she engaged with HUD TA to ensure resources for sustainable housing solutions and equitable treatment of survivors, including those experiencing homelessness prior to the disaster, were available.
