Junior Research Analyst
Makayla Barker is a Junior Research Analyst in The Cloudburst Group’s Global Development practice area. She supports data management across the data lifecycle, including survey design, data collection, data cleaning and analysis using statistical programs (R, STATA, SPSS), and data visualizations using business intelligence platforms and ArcGIS.
Prior to Cloudburst, Ms. Barker served as a data steward for an implementing partner of USAID, where she worked to improve data governance initiatives and provide data literacy training for field and home office staff. Ms. Barker has experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and has worked as a research assistant for political scientists, economists, and nonprofit organizations. Ms. Barker holds a bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Political Science from Macalester College, where she focused on informal economic activity and political legitimacy.
