Analyst

As an trainer and technical assistance coordinator in The Cloudburst Group’s Public Health practice area, Tripp Pearce is currently working under SAMHSAs Performance Accountability and Reporting System (SPARS) project. His primary role is to support federal grantees by providing them with exemplary technical service and training on the collection, management, and utilization of their public health data.

Mr. Pearce has ten years of experience in developing instructional products and providing technical assistance to Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA) staff and grantees. Mr. Pearce provides this technical assistance via onsite visits, telephone, e-mail, video conferences, and webinars. He also provides technical assistance to grantees on the administration of data collection instruments, trauma-informed care, and motivational interviewing. Mr. Pearce is also currently orchestrating the development the Land Tenure and Property Rights Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for USAID. Prior to joining Cloudburst, Mr. Pearce was a training and technical assistance specialist under the Services Accountability Improvement System (SAIS) project for the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT). In this role, Mr. Pearce managed, prepared, and conducted onsite and web-based training courses on outcomes measurement requirements, SAMHSA policies and best practices, and the SAIS data management system. He has conducted trainings to various program-specific CSAT grants, including homeless grants, adolescent grants, and criminal justice grants. Mr. Pearce assisted in writing the Staying in Touch Fieldwork Manual, a manual which provides SAMHSA grantees with the proper strategies and techniques used for locating clients for follow-up studies. He has also evaluated grant progress using established methods and techniques and has conducted follow-up assessments with field managers. Mr. Pearce was responsible for preparing and editing course material and products, identifying and initiating changes and updates to course content, and reviewing, and designing new instructional materials. Based on formal evaluations, he identified needed revisions to training methods, training products and aids, and other elements of the training process.
