Cloudburst was awarded the 8(a) certification  by the U.S. Small Business Administration in April 2006. The benefits of this certification include:

• Government purchasers can order goods and services from Cloudburst on a sole-source basis with a contract ceiling of $3.5 million.
• Federal acquisition policies encourage Federal agencies to award a certain percentage of their contracts to SDBs; over 25 Federal agencies can contract directly with certified 8(a) firms.
• 8(a) firms can form joint ventures and teams to bid on contracts, enhancing our capability to perform larger prime contracts.
